Money for Macomb
In the 2010 Census, Macomb County’s response rate was 82 percent. That means 18 percent of the county’s residents did not fill out their form and were not included in the count.
This year, we want to make sure everyone is counted! Why does it matter? Census data (populations, ages, demographics) is used to determine how much money communities receive from the federal government. This could be funds for:
- Food assistance
- Health care
When census forms are not completed, as they were in 2010 in Macomb County, our communities miss out on important funding. In fact, it is estimated that Macomb County missed out on $272 million because of the 18 percent who were not counted. We are counting on everyone in Macomb County to change that this time around! Can we count on you?
Let’s change that in 2020! All it takes is 10 minutes and you can make an impact on the next 10 years! For more information on this topic, visit the Census Bureau here.
